What a Week!

This week was awesome! We did a bunch of service for members, and taught a bunch of lessons!  One of the families we did service for has us MILK THEIR GOATS! Strange experience, to say the least!  We also met lots of of their other animals, and had the most fun working in their garden!  Sometimes I feel like members who let us serve them are really serving us!  It is so nice to get out of the apartment and to be active!

Funny story time: After service one day, the Hermanas came to pick us up. We were just sitting in the back of the car as they went to grab a dinner from a member, when something bit Sister Lee! It was inside her joggers so she grabbed her pants and squeezed. Whatever it was crunched and started oozing. We both started screaming and freaking out. She was panicking and wanted whatever it was out, and I started panicking too. I didn't know what else to do, so I just started yelling, "Take your pants off!" She did and there was an EARWIG in there! Ahhh! We laughed our heads off about it after!

Fillmore is gearing up for the 4th of July! It is the only city in Ventura County where fireworks are legal. They set up firework stands along the high way every 40 feet or so. People from all over the county come to buy fireworks here! The Fourth has become Fillmore's holiday because of it! People go ALL OUT decorating and celebrating. This year a lot of the parades and fireworks shows were canceled, but people are still ready to celebrate!

Today for P-day we went BOWLING! It was so fun to be out and about with the District!

Please keep Charlotte in your prayers! She is working to live the Word of Wisdom, and is doing so well!

A Little More of Fillmore!

We got our transfer calls and I'm staying here in FILLMORE!

YAY! I wanted to stay, especially because Fillmore is the only city in Ventura County that allows any kind of fireworks.  Apparently, people come here from all over to celebrate!  It should be exciting. . oh, and also because of our awesome people!

Charlotte is doing great! She got sick this week (not rona, just a cold) so we didn't get to meet as often as usual.

We started teaching a man named George this week! He is awesome and such a character! He loves to talk and calls himself a- hardtogetawordin -kind of guy! Haha! We do our best! Our friend Kennedy is prepping for her WEDDING in a month! She has been crazy busy, so we also didn't get to meet as much with her, but we are so excited for her!

We had Zone Conference IN PERSON this week, and it was awesome! We drove up to Santa Barbara (my old area) It's such a beautiful drive and I was nostalgic the whole way! I love Santa Barbara! We all sat socially distant and listened to the speakers! Afterwards, instead of eating together, they gave us all sack dinners to go! It was the Nakken's last Zone Conference, so it was bitter-sweet! I'm excited to meet my new Mission President next week!

We did a bunch of service this week! We pulled weeds at the Boon's house, and spread mulch at our Ward Mission Leader's house! We got to meet a sheep...our WML's daughter adopted a lamb and it is soooo cute! Definitely a highlight of the week!

Happy Father's Day to my Dad, and all the Dads!

No Pictures, Too Busy!

This week was great! We were running around all week. It was crazy busy but sooo great! We met so many of the members and had lots of lessons!

Our friend Corrine decided that she wants to be baptized! It's a crazy miracle actually! She is going through a lot in her life right now, and has trouble sleeping. She woke up the other night and decided to pick up her Book of Mormon. She read all of Moroni and received a STRONG witness that the Book of Mormon is true! She called us the next day and asked if we could come see her. When we got there she told us she wants to be baptized!

Charlotte is also working towards baptism. She moved her date to the first week of August and is still super excited to be baptized!!

We are loving Fillmore! My testimony this week has grown sooo much on how the Spirit can work in peoples' lives! It can change a mind and soften a hard heart. The Spirit can testify of truth to someone's soul. We need the Spirit in our teaching and in our lives!

I miss everyone lots! We're doing well here! Transfers are in a week, then we get a new mission President...crazy!

One Way or Another

Hey y'all,

We have had our ankles BROKEN this past week! We keep getting some slack on the restrictions for COVID, but then two or three days later they change it back. They are trying to stay compliant with local laws and Church policy. It has been pretty crazy, but we readjust! One way or another, the work will continue!

This week was great! We went on a lot of faith walks and took some fun pictures! Faith walks are for photo shoots! We also found a lady who sells Elotes and bought some! Sister Lee had never had them...we would highly recommend!

Not too much happened out of the ordinary this week!

Charlotte is still doing great! Please keep her in your prayers!

We played sand volleyball today for our district activity! It's a socially distanced sport so its allowed!

Our schedule is getting more and more back to normal and we are thriving! I love the mission so much!

MIRACLES

This week was awesome! We saw such cool miracles!

Angela requested a Book of Mormon and we dropped it off at her house. She didn't answer the door, but we left the book on her porch. As we were walking away, we saw her and were able to meet her and talk with her!

Rebecca's fiance is a recent convert in Oxnard. She lives here in Fillmore and wants to learn about the church! The Assistants (who taught her fiance) called us Friday night and asked us to bring her a Book of Mormon that night! The Hermanas had our car so...we hopped on our bikes and headed to her house! We got there, were able to meet her, and get back to our apartment all before 9! It was awesome!

We had our last interview with President Nakken and Sister Nakken! It was so sad! I'm going to miss them! I've learned so much for them!

We are doing great! The rules for missionary work change all the time! We get new instructions and information from our leaders and have to adjust but it's all good. We are flexible!

Not much time, so I'll jump to pictures! I love having district activities again, but it means less time for emailing. Sorry!

The Final Chapter

Well, this is my last email . . . for real, this time. Wednesday will be my last day as a full-time missionary. I love my mission. It has be...
